Honda Rugged

Camera Operator

Some productions are remembered for the final film.

Others are remembered for everything it took to capture it.

Honda Rugged took us deep into the Utah desert, where shifting weather transformed the landscape into something far more dramatic than we could have planned. Storm systems rolled across the horizon, sunlight broke through towering clouds, and dry earth gave way to mud and standing water.

As a camera operator, every frame became an exercise in adaptation. The environment was constantly changing, forcing us to move with the conditions rather than fight them. What initially felt like an obstacle quickly became the visual foundation of the project.

The landscape delivered scale. The weather delivered atmosphere. Our job was to be ready when those moments aligned.

Looking back, what stands out most isn't a single shot or sequence, but the experience of chasing light across an unpredictable landscape and translating that energy into images. The conditions demanded patience, creativity, and trust in the process.

In the end, the elements that challenged the production became the very things that made it memorable.
